SEGMENTATION OF KNEE JOINT MAGNETIC RESONANCE TOMOGRAMS

Abstract. The paper measures the intensities of the signals of knee joint tissues (cartilage, bone, muscle, fat) in magnetic resonance tomograms obtained in the field of 1.5 tesla under various conditions. The author proposes an algorithm for the automatic segmentation of tissues for the tasks of the three-dimensional modeling of knee joint. The efficiency of cartilage and bone highlighting and the dependence of the result on tissues contrast are evaluated.
