TOPICALITY OF THE PROBLEM OF YOUNG PEOPLE’S MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION AND FORMING HIGHER SCHOOL STUDENTS’ INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE IN THE PROCESS OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDY

Abstract. The article is devoted to the relevant nowadays problem of young people’s multicultural education and forming higher school students’ intercultural competence in the process of a foreign language study. The author examines and analyzes in detail the existing definitions of the concept "intercultural competence", introduces her own original definition and presents the essential and meaningful characteristic of the concept "intercultural competence". The paper focuses on the phenomenon of poly-systemic linguistic knowledge.
