DEVELOPMENT OF BRANCH RESEARCH INSTITUTES IN CHELYABINSK REGION IN THE 1960S (BY THE MATERIALS OF FERROUS METALLURGY AND COAL INDUSTRY)

Abstract. The article analyzes the development of the network of branch research institutes in Chelyabinsk region in the 1960s. The author considers the positive and negative aspects of the changes in the mechanism of scientific and technical policy implementation in the process of the reform of industry management in 1957. The paper also explores the activity of Chelyabinsk Economic Council aimed at the creation of new and the expansion of the functioned research institutes, which enabled to lay a foundation for the further intensive development of branch science in the region.
