ATTITUDE OF A MAN TO LABOUR BY THE EXAMPLE OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS OF THE RUSSIAN, ENGLISH AND YAKUT LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article considers the traditional conceptions of the linguistic community about a man in accordance with his/her attitude to labour. The material of the phraseological units of the Russian, English and Yakut languages is used. As a result of the conducted comparative-contrastive analysis of phraseological units the approaches, general for the examined languages, to the choice of vocabulary to express positive/negative attitude to an industrious/lazy worker are traced, the nationally specific peculiarities of the components are noted. By the material of the investigated phraseological units the conclusion is made about the generality of the value guidelines concerning the necessity and benefit of labour in the Russian, English and Yakut national cultures.
