GENRE TENDENCIES SPECTRUM OF WAR NARRATIVE OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE ХХ TH CENTURY

Abstract. Basing on the material of narrative tradition devoted to the theme of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 the author considers the problem of correlation between the genre and plot, and puts forward the hypothesis that there are three main varieties of war narrative genre. In each of them the main plot scheme "ordeal" is supplemented by the following events: "transformation" (war-adventure narrative), "transfiguration" (heroic-romantic narrative) and "education" (war-genre narrative). Plot idea of "formation" is not determinative for the given genre.
