CATEGORICAL PARADIGM OF SYNTACTIC CAUSATIVE WITH VERB LET

Abstract. The author reveals the specificity of language behaviour of a causative verb let , which is used for syntactic causative formation in the English language, tells that the verb let is the most productive type of syntactic causative, and the causative meaning is represented explicitly, using verbal-infinitive constructions, by the illustrative material proves the possibility of using the verb in several taxonomic categories –action, activity, event, and determines the dominant type of causation – a distant one.
