ENGLISH LANGUAGE ROLE AS MEDIATOR IN EDUCATION GLOBAL SPACE

Abstract. In the article the position of the English language as the higher education main language is considered; language situation in the academic environment of Europe and in the world on the whole is analyzed. The author assesses the English language position in the world, considers the questions on which language can dominate in global scale and in higher education in particular, what countries language policy towards the English language is and why the English language has the leading role in the world.
