FISHING VOCABULARY IN THE WESTERN DIALECT OF THE TUVAN LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article considers the vocabulary of fishing, which is one of the oldest forms of economic activity of the Tuvan people living in the geographical center of Asia. Studying fishing vocabulary refers not only to the linguistic facts, but also to the history, culture and worldview of the people. In the article the author reveals the lexical-semantic groups of fishing vocabulary in Kara-Khol patois of the Western dialect of the Tuvan language which speakers are actively engaged in fishing up to present day and keep the history and culture of their ancestors.
