CHOICE OF WORD-BUILDING PATTERNS AS INDICATOR OF INDIVIDUAL TRANSLATOR’S STYLE: DATA SELECTION PROCEDURE

Abstract. The current article deals with the subject of research and description of the translator’s creative individuality characteristics in European linguistics. There is data selection procedure provided for a word-building analysis of compound nouns within the framework of individual translator’s style research by the materials of translated fiction text corpus from the Russian into English language. The potential engagement of translational corpus research in the study of translator’s linguistic personality is also illustrated in the article.
