POLYSEMANTIC AND HOMONYMOUS RELATIONS OF PHOTOTECHNICAL TERMS (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES)

Abstract. The article examines the terminological polysemy and homonymy by the example of rapidly developing sub-language of phototechnique. On the basis of comparative analysis of the articles of explanatory terminological dictionaries and peculiarities of functioning of the terms in special texts the author proved the objective presence of polysemantic terms in the investigated lexico-semantic field of the English and Russian languages, identified various types of polysemy and homonymy.
