METAPHOR FUNCTIONING IN GERMAN CHILD'S SPEECH

Abstract. The article reveals the issue of how a metaphor functions in child's speech and how this correlates with age. The author has for an object to show in the article how the metaphor functioning changes depending on the age of a child. The research is based on the material of German child's speech. The corpus of examples contains the metaphorical utterances of children from 5,5 to 12 years old which have been received as a result of the analysis of German sites, German children's literature and the transcription of child's texts.
