WHY DON'T CHILDREN - POTENTIAL BILINGUALS SPEAK NATIVE LANGUAGE?

Abstract. In the article the issue of interaction of languages in the regions where the representatives of several nationalities live is considered. The data of the research of language preferences of children-potential bilinguals living in the territory of one of the districts of the Astrakhan region are assumed as a basis. The reasons of different correlations in the use of two languages are analyzed.
