VERBS WITH ITERATIVE MEANING IN THE RUSSIAN AND CHUVASH LANGUAGES (BY THE EXAMPLE OF N. V. GOGOL’S CYCLE "EVENINGS ON A FARM NEAR DIKANKA")

Abstract. The article analyzes the means of delivering the meaning of repeatability, expressed by iterative verbs in the Russian and Chuvash languages. The following methods of delivering the meaning of iterative nature are typical of the Chuvash language: an aspectual-temporal form (iterative past); analytical forms of the verb (a combination of adverbial participle of the full verb ending in -са/-се and an auxiliary verb in a conjugated form); the reduplication of onomatopoeic words stem in the form of adverbial participle in а/-е , the affix of repeatability is -кала-/-келе- .
