ON THE ISSUE OF A WORD-FORMATIVE MODEL "STRENGTHENING OF A FEATURE" AND "WEAKENING OF A FEATURE" OF SUFFIXAL ADJECTIVES OF THE ENGLISH AND TURKISH LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of the study of the nouns semantics, united according to the type of a word-formative meaning, involved in the suffixal model "strengthening of the feature", "weakening of the feature". On the basis of an onomasiological study an attempt has been made to reveal semantic tendencies of the languages under consideration, to analyze the mechanisms of combinatorial analysis of onomasiological feature and onomasiological basis of suffixal adjectives, to highlight universal and differential characteristics of semantics of suffixal adjectives of "strengthening" and "weakening" of a feature of the English and Turkish languages. There is also an attempt to disclose the meanings of suffixal adjectives with a metaphoric re-comprehension.
