Abstract. The article aims to classify the vocabulary of the work by Ch. Marlowe "Tamburlaine the Great" associated with the military themes according to field principle. The author identifies micro-fields constituting the field "war", focuses on their structure, distinguishes nuclear elements, elements of distant and near periphery. The researcher also analyzes the etymological structure of the mentioned lexico-semantic field, argues for the necessity for further studies of the lexico-semantic fields by the material of literary texts.
