COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH IN THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING OF STUDENTS OF A TECHNICAL HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENT (EXPERIENCE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS IN TOMSK POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY)

Abstract. In the article the description of the comprehensive approach to the foreign language teaching in a technical higher education establishment is presented. The comprehensive approach includes learning activity, students’ self-guided work and creative (extracurricular) activities. This approach focuses on the practical outcome, allows increasing students’ motivation to learn a foreign language and forms communication skills. The roles of the teacher and students in the educational process are identified.
