LINGUOCULTUROLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CONCEPT "CLASS" BY THE MATERIAL OF THE NOVEL BY SUE TOWNSEND "THE QUEEN AND I"

Abstract. The article presents the results of investigating the concept CLASS by the material of the novel of the British authoress Sue Townsend "The Queen and I". The paper identifies culturally valuable characteristics of the concept illustrating the peculiarities of value orientations of a linguocultural community: class - social hierarchy; upper classes - parasites and the reason for domination of a class system, fear, stagnation; speech, style of dressing are the indicators of a social class; upper classes are characterized by snobbery, self-control and lack of emotions.
