OCULESIC COMPONENT OF AN AGGRESSIVE NON-VERBAL BEHAVIOUR IN THE INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE NOVEL BY J. SALINGER "THE CATCHER IN THE RYE")

Abstract. The article is devoted to the crucial component of non-verbal communication - visual contact. The authors examine the basic eye functions in the communication, identify the meanings of visual interaction by the example of the novel of the American writer Jerome Salinger. The conducted analysis allows concluding that in the aggressive non-verbal behaviour the oculesic signs, interacting with the verbal means, can perform different functions and express various emotions, not always in accordance with the latter.
