THE LITERARY UNDERSTANDING OF MALE AND FEMALE IMAGES IN K. ABRAMOV’S NOVEL "STEPAN ERZYA"

Antonova Vera Ivanovna, Golyakov Andrei Nikolaevich
N. P. Ogarev Mordovia State University

Abstract. The article actualizes one of the most interesting and challenging but at the same time little-studied problems in the Mordovian literature - the problem of the literary understanding of male and female images in the novel trilogy "Stepan Erzya" of the famous Mordovian writer K. G. Abramov. The aim of the study is to identify the organic correlation, the interdependency between the categories of "male and female images" and "national identity". The authors emphasize that the scrupulous, careful attitude of the writer to the male and female characters intensifies the effect of "national constant" (ethno-mental, social-cultural background of the depicted time) of the work, which is the priority factor in the dynamics of the main character’s professional development, the national identity of his creative work; it allows the writing talent to appear clearer in social-cultural space of the Mordovian prose writers’ creative work.
