THE TYPOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF POLYSEMIOTIC HYPERTEXT OF HARVARD UNIVERSITY

Abstract. The article studies the typological characteristics of a polysemiotic hypertext of Harvard University, defines the notions "an electronic hypertext" and "a polysemiotic hypertext", provides an overview of the existing typologies of an electronic hypertext; as a result the author concludes that the website of Harvard University is a dispersed, complex, dynamic, infinite, inartistic, network polysemiotic electronic hypertext that can only exist on the Internet.
