Abstract. Fusion as the method of forming composites is represented in the structure of verbal derivational families of words with two varieties in the Russian language: pure fusion and fusion combined with suffixation. Derivatives of the first production method are dominant and differ in a variety of part-of-speech affiliation and a wide representation of the first component. The first components as мало (little) , много (multi) , ниже (below) , выше (above) , полого (flat) , быстро (fast) , свободно (free) , мелко (small) , двояко (doubly) and etc. are the most frequent. Derivatives of the second type are not so numerous and are interpreted by different linguists in their own way.
