MODERN ENGLISH ERGONYMS OF THE BUILDING INDUSTRY AS THE ASPECT OF CONSTRUCTION DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article presents the results of examination of the building subject matter texts of the Canadian English-language press. It is noted that a distinctive feature of these texts is the presence of a large amount of ergonyms, indicating the names of construction companies which perform works for various functional purpose. The article provides the classification of ergonyms, focuses on ergonyms of advertising character, analyzes the usable linguistic means. On the basis of identified characteristics the ergonyms can be interpreted as the linguistic specificity of modern building discourse.
