A LETTER IN POETIC AND PROSAIC WORKS BY N. M. KARAMZIN

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of defining the specificity of existence of an epistolary genre in the heritage of N. M. Karamzin. The epistolarity is considered as an integral characteristic of the Karamzin creative method. On the basis of the analysis of the writer’s poetic and prosaic works the conclusions are made about the forms of manifestation of epistolarity, their main functions, and also the character of interconnection of the letter as a literary form with a real epistolary practice of N. M. Karamzin.
