LATIN AFFIXES IN THE SYSTEM OF NOMINAL PARTS OF SPEECH OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article discovers the specifics of using Latin morphemes in the system of nominal parts of speech of the English language. The author pays special attention to the analysis of using Latin prefixes and suffixes borrowed from the Latin language. The paper tries to trace the adaptation of the morphemes borrowed from the Roman languages and to develop the model for comprehensive study of the Latin affixes. Applying to the interrelation of the Roman and German linguistic environment is justified by the functional importance of the Latin language, therefore a special investigation of the Roman elements reflection in the modern English language is considered relevant.
