ALGO-CRITICISM AS A FORMAL METHOD

Abstract. The article highlights a semantic category of literary images that was earlier not investigated. These images refer to physical pain and for their denotation the author suggests the term "algo-image". A new formal literary-critical method, based on the analysis and interpretation of algo-images (algo-criticism) is suggested. An algo-critical method is examined as consisting of two stages: 1) revealing algo-images and 2) homosemantic translation. The question about formal possibilities of a new method and reproducibility of the results received with its help is examined.
