SONG TRADITIONS AS A SOURCE OF THE COGNITIVE ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT AMONG THE CHILDREN OF MIDDLE SCHOOL AGE

Abstract. The author of the article emphasizes her attention on the fact that at the middle school age when a child forms an active attitude to the cognitive activity, he/she should join to folk music and song, which have absorbed the most valuable from the culture of the native land. In the cognitive activity development of a child we address more frequently to the origins of the folklore education and upbringing, as exactly there one finds answers to many difficult problems of the modern world. The paper shows how the cognitive activity is developed by the example of the West Russian and South Russian song traditions. It is accentuated that folklore education and upbringing are the source of the cognitive activity development among the children of middle school age.
