STRUCTURAL AND SEMANTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF COMPOUND THEATRE TERMS OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article gives the general characteristics of compound theatre terms of the English language. Structural and semantic models, which underlie the formation of these terms, are established, and their quantitative composition is revealed. The component structure of theatre terms and types of syntactic connection between components are examined. Semantic groups, formed with compound theatre terms of the English language, are described. Extra- and intra-linguistic factors, having conditioned the features of compound theatre terms of the English language, are named.
