ON THE INFINITIVE PROBLEM IN THE RUSSIAN AND WESTERN LINGUISTICS OF THE XX CENTURY

Samarin Dmitrii Aleksandrovich
Baikal State University (Branch) in Yakutsk

Abstract. The article analyzes the specifics of interpreting the infinitive in the modern linguistics. For that purpose the author made a comparison of the morphological conceptions of the Russian and foreign linguists of the XX century. The study indicated that they associated the infinitive with one of the two notional parts of speech - name or verb. The paper identified that the views on nature and part-of-speech affiliation of the infinitive in Russia and abroad are of dialectic nature.
