Skachkova Lyubov' Vladislavovna
Bryansk State University named after academician I. G. Petrovsky

Abstract. In the article the influence of gender attribute and procedural character on the connotative meaning of a phraseological unit is described, the term "procedural character" and its types (static/dynamic character) are revealed. On the basis of the analysis of the belonging of phraseological units with a component-zoonym cat (кот/кошка) to one or another type (in the V. V. Vinogradov’s classification), the author ascertains that the gender attribute and the type of procedural character can be the motivational basis both in the creation of a phraseological unit, and in the revelation of its additional meanings.
Key words and phrases: гендер, процессуальность, фразеологизм, фразеологическая мотивированность, статичность, динамичность, компонент-зооним кот/кошка, gender, procedural character, phraseological unit, phraseological motivation, static character, dynamic character, component-zoonym cat (кот/кошка)
