THE MOTIVE OF AFFECTION IN THE RUSSIAN LITERATURE OF THE XIX CENTURY

Polyakova Galina Veniaminovna
Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M. V. Lomonosov

Abstract. The article examines the spiritual and moral experience of the heroes of Russian literature on the path to an earthly love of a human to human and in the moments of prayerful affection in the sacred space of an Orthodox church. The author focuses on the ideologeme "Russian spiritual ladder" and examines certain aspects of its figurative implementation in the national literature in the correlation with the prototype of a Ladder from the book by Saint John Climacus "Ladder of Divine Ascent". In this tradition the affection is interpreted as one of the steps of Russian spiritual ladder integrating the love and spiritual joy and also as an emotional catharsis which is preceded by suffering, humility and the feeling of universal responsibility.
