MODERN APPROACHES TO STUDYING EMOTIONS IN LINGUISTICS (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract. The article provides a description of the modern linguistic approaches to studying emotions, in particular, such emotional states as anger and exaltation. Comprehensive approach to studying anger and exaltation from the viewpoint of linguo-cognitive and communicative-pragmatic analysis along with the descriptive analysis and etymological data of these emotional states allow understanding the essence of psychological phenomena, specifying concrete emotions and identifying the structural-semantic features of the speech under anger and exaltation. The author focuses on examining the conceptualization of anger and exaltation in the emotional worldview.
