ROOM AS AN IMAGE OF CLOSED SPACE IN P. S?SKIND’S STORY "THE PIGEON" AND F. KAFKA’S NOVEL "THE METAMORPHOSIS"

Abstract. The article is devoted to the creative work of the two mysterious and ambiguous representatives of the XX century prose - Franz Kafka and Patrick S?skind. The authors provide comparative analysis of the artistic space of F. Kafka’s novel "The Metamorphosis" and P. S?skind’s story "The Pigeon". Identifying and analyzing the peculiarities of spatial images and their interrelations the paper concludes on the original artistic solution of freedom problem through the space images.
