MEANS OF VERBAL AGRESSION AS A TOOL OF INFORMATION WARS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE ARCTIC MEDIA DISCOURSE)

Abstract. The article analyzes the means of linguistic influence in the Arctic media discourse, with the help of which the information wars for the Arctic resources in electronic and print media are conducted. The author investigates the use of the means of verbal aggression in the Arctic media discourse: the examples of aggressive similes and metaphors are given and analyzed, word-formative neologisms, abusive and foreign language vocabulary are studied. The author concludes that aggressively charged vocabulary is an effective tool of the modern media wars.
