METONYMICAL AND METAPHORICAL REPRESENTATION OF THE AUDITORY PERCEPTION SITUATION IN THE MODERN ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article analyzes the means for conceptualization of the auditory perception situation in the modern English language, in particular, its metonymical and metaphorical representation. Metaphor and metonymy are considered as one of the means to represent the knowledge on the world in the linguistic form. The special attention is paid to the linguistic conceptualization of the processes of focusing, directing, distributing attention in the auditory perception situations.
