SOCIOLINGUISTIC PROFILE OF THE COUNTRIES OF TROPICAL AFRICA (NIGERIA AND EQUATORIAL GUINEA)

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the status and functioning of the European languages in Tropical Africa. The complexity of the heterogeneous linguistic situation in the African countries is in the fact that the African languages coexist and interact with the European ones. The result of the research is the identification of both common features in English and Spanish in Tropical Africa conditioned by the similarity of language situations in countries, the commonality of historical destinies, the natural environment, and the differences in language proficiency of the former mother country and its use as a means of communication.
