CONCEPTUALIZED WORD-OBJECT SPHERES AS REPRESENTATION OF SEMIOTIC WEAKENING IN THE ANGLO-SAXON LINGUO-CULTURAL TRADITION

Abstract. The article describes conceptualized verbal subjective fields where words, things and rituals are put together in the common conceptions of punishment for the offense or the concepts REVENGE, WERGILD, TRIAL. These fields correspond to the stages of the process of semiotic weakening in the Old English, Anglo-Saxon culture and law in the VII-XI centuries. Transitions from one stage to another are a kind of "evolutionary leaps" in developing the semantics of the Old English lexical units and the Anglo-Saxon public conscience.
Key words and phrases: концептуализированная область, семиотическое ослабление, историческая семантика, древнеанглийский язык, англосаксонская культура, право, conceptualized field, semiotic weakening, historical semantics, Old English, Anglo-Saxon culture, law
