NOVEL NARRATION AS ONE OF THE METHODS OF INFLUENCE ON READERS’ INTEREST IN RUTH RENDELL’S STORY "BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION"

Abstract. The article reveals the notion of readers’ interest in the context of literary criticism. Special attention is paid to the consideration of the subject organization of work and its functions. The basic goal is to study the mechanisms of the novel narration influence on readers’ interest. For practical study of this issue the paper analyzes R. Rendell’s story "Bribery and Corruption" (1985). In the course of the story analysis a number of mechanisms of novel narration affecting readers’ interest are revealed.
