SEMANTICS AND PRAGMATICS OF INDIRECT SPEECH ACTS OF INTERROGATIVE CONSTRUCTIONS (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH SCRIPTS)

Abstract. The article reveals the peculiarities of indirect interrogative speech act functioning in the script dialogues. The authors examine the most frequent and least frequent types of indirect speech acts and identify their pragmatic and semantic aspects. The special attention is paid to the discrepancy between interrogative form and content of indirect speech acts.
