GOGOL’S EARLY CREATIVE WORK AND ALL-EUROPEAN HISTORICAL-PHILOSOPHICAL THOUGHT

Abstract. The article considers Gogol’s early creative work within the framework of the West European historical-philosophical movement, reveals the influence of the German classical philosophy on it that determined the writer’s interest to the problems of universal history and the singularity of his creative aspirations; at the same time the paper determines the role of the Ukrainian folklorism traditions in the formation of Gogol’s artistic method.
