PROSODY AS A MEANS TO MAINTAIN COMMUNICATIVE PROCESS IN THE ENGLISH DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article analyzes prosodic means to promote communicative process in the English discourse. Perceptive and acoustic data acquired during dialogic text analysis allow the author to conclude that the basic marker of dialogic replica completion is the accelerated tempo and interval reduction. Melodic component and volume are non-relevant for this study.
