LINGUISTIC-CULTURAL MEANING OF CRYING AND GENDER MARKED WAYS OF ITS DESCRIPTION IN THE GERMAN AND RUSSIAN TRIVIAL TEXTS

Abstract. This article discusses gender marked ways of description of the emotional response of crying, which seems to be one of the aspects of the semiotics of social communication. The paper analyzes gender peculiarities of crying not only as a reaction to negative emotions, but to positive ones as well. It describes the gender stereotype of crying in the German and Russian linguistic cultures. The author proves a violation of the gender communicative stereotype of behaviour and emotional reactions in trivial texts.
