Abstract. The article examines the grammatical nature of prepositive isolated nominative. Particular attention is paid to the syntactic status of prepositive isolated nominative, as well as to the issues of its differentiation and qualification. Basing on the results of the research, the authors conclude that prepositive isolated nominative forms two types of syntactic structures in the text: sentence (nominative constructions) and non-sentence (nominative of introduction, address).
