FORMING JUNIOR PUPILS’ ECOLOGICAL CULTURE IN THE PROCESS OF NATIVE LANGUAGE TEACHING (BY THE EXAMPLE OF KUMYK FOLKLORE)

Abstract. The article examines the formation of junior pupils’ ecological culture in the process of native language teaching. The paper evaluates the role and importance of folk traditions and customs to cultivate careful attitude to the environment. The author shows that the knowledge acquired at the native language lessons became the basic ones, and over the years promote the formation of environmental competence. The researcher concludes that the process of forming junior pupils’ ecological culture begins with the adoption of oral folklore - proverbs, sayings, riddles, songs, and tales.
