Abstract. The article deals with the linguistic peculiarities of A. P. Chekhov’s signatures in the letters written by the writer in the period of 1890-1892. A. P. According to the structure, simple and complex signatures are singled out. In A. P. Chekhov’s correspondence the prevalence of the detailed signatures over the simple ones is observed. To identify the peculiarities of the signatures in A. P. Chekhov’s letters to a certain type of addressee two cycles are described: the letters to L. S. Mizinova and to Al. P. Chekhov. A. P.
