THE PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS OF STUDYING SOUND-DESCRIPTIVE VOCABULARY OF THE TURKISH LANGUAGE

Sarisahin Dilber
Saint Petersburg State University

Abstract. The article is devoted to the sound-descriptive system of the Turkish language. The main problems and prospects associated with the study of this topic are identified. The author singles out such problematic issues as the allocation of sound-descriptive lexemes of the Turkish language into a separate class (part of speech), the absence of monographic works devoted to the phonosemantic peculiarities of the sound-descriptive system of the Turkish language and the problem of the relationship between sounding and meaning. As a perspective, the further research of the phonosemantic peculiarities of the sound-descriptive system of the Turkish language is proposed.
Key words and phrases: турецкий язык, звукоизобразительная система, звукоподражательная лексика, звукосимволическая лексика, фоносемантика, the Turkish language, sound-descriptive system, onomatopoeic vocabulary, sound-symbolic vocabulary, phonosemantics
