THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE PRONUNCIATION CULTURE AS A COMPONENT OF CROSS-CULTURAL COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE OF THE PHILOLOGICAL SPECIALIZATION STUDENTS

Abstract. The article raises the issue of the need for the formation of cross-cultural communicative competence as the ultimate goal of teaching the English language to students of the philological specialization. The author focuses on the necessity of revising the target and content components of teaching English pronunciation: the rejection of the usual phonetic skills in favor of the formation of students’ pronunciation culture as a necessary condition for the success of cross-cultural communication.
