Abstract. In the article a set of lyrical works of the Kabardian poet Kh. Kh. Kazharov devoted to the war theme is analyzed. The poet’s works of the war content are compared to the lyrics of poets of the region referring to the same topic. The theme of war is revealed both through the historical experience of the people, and through the poet’s personal experience. The author shows how the poet, studying the military actions of various periods (the struggle of his ancestors with the Chints (Nart sagas), World War II, the Lebanon war), and identifies the common features in them: hatred of the aggressor and the heroic image of a soldier. The work deals with figurative-expressive means with the help of which the poet creates his works.
