METONYMY IN IMPERSONAL SENTENCES OF THE MODERN FRENCH LANGUAGE

Novoselova Natal'ya Vasil'evna
Omsk State Pedagogical University

Abstract. The article examines impersonal sentences of the modern French language in which semantic subject acquires metonymical designation. The paper identifies objective conditions for subject metonymical designation and stylistic effects the French authors achieve using impersonal sentences of the mentioned type. The researcher argues that the arising possibilities for author’s individual innovation increase stylistic potential of the analyzed impersonal sentences and promote the development of impersonal construction in the modern French language.
