ACOUSTIC AND PERCEPTIVE FEATURES OF MONGOLIAN VOWELS (EXPERIMENTAL PHONETIC RESEARCH)

Abstract. In the modern Mongolian studies there is a problem of ambiguous interpretation of Mongolian phonemes structure. The article describes the results of experimental phonetic research of Mongolian short and long vowels pronounced separately by six speakers - bearers of the Khalkha-Mongolian language. The author conducted acoustic and perceptive experiments aimed to analyze Mongolian short and long vowels. Special attention is paid to the phonetic analysis of the phoneme /i/.
