SYNONYMS OF THE NOTION "DISEASE" IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problems of choice and systematization of the notion "disease" synonyms in the English language. By statistical methods of corpus linguistics the author chose the synonyms satisfying the criteria of quantitative indicator of connection strength, frequency, universality, width and usefulness in veterinary students’ foreign language education. The acquired data allowed the author to form a synonymic line identifying the place of synonyms with a stronger semantic proximity.
